Car buying gimmicks

If you're like me, you're sick of all the car commercials that have come as of late trying to sell the massive gas guzzlers they have filling up their lots. The one that gets me the most is the guarantee of $2.99 gas for three years. Thankfully, it looks like car shoppers have been smart enough to see past Chrysler's cheap gas guarantee. Despite Chrysler's extension of the offer for an extra month, a very small percentage of actual consumers have actually chosen the gas guarantee over the old fashioned cash back options. Once anyone does the math, you can easily see that the incentive wasn't really as good as they make it out to be. Basically, you would get the same benefit from a 3 mpg bump in efficiency.
